Jobs for Working Families
The project generates over 2,000 new jobs, with a special promise: local labor unions are guaranteed to get jobs on the project. Unions like LiUNA back it because it guarantees fair pay and good treatment on the job.
Fort Lauderdale · New City Hall
A new City Hall will create THOUSANDS of high-paying local jobs for working families.
Most of downtown Fort Lauderdale has grown and improved over the years. But the area around the old City Hall site has been left behind. A new City Hall would help change that — for workers, for businesses, and for every resident who needs to talk to their government.

$300M
The new City Hall could bring $300 million in new business activity to a downtown corner that's been left behind. Nearby restaurants, shops, and small businesses would see more customers walk through the door.
ALL OF US
A regular office tower is built for office workers. A City Hall is built for all of us — a gathering space to be heard, to be seen, and to organize for a better future, no matter what neighborhood you're from.
What we're building
Designed as a public place first, an office building second. Glass at street level, shaded plazas, native palms, and a gathering space that opens directly onto downtown.
Why are we here?
April 2023
A huge rainstorm floods Fort Lauderdale's old City Hall. The 1960s-era building suffers bad damage to wiring and air conditioning. The city tears it down. Since then, city workers have been spread out across other buildings downtown — costing about $5 million a year just to rent space.
May 2025
A company comes to the city on its own and proposes to build a new City Hall. Under Florida law, the city has to let other companies compete for 60 days. Six proposals come in.
Dec 2, 2025
The city's outside expert reviews all six. Only one company meets every rule — Fort Lauderdale City Hall Partners. The Commission votes 4–1 to pick them. Construction is planned to start in early 2027 and finish in 2029.
2026 · Now
Some Commissioners are now exploring other options — including buying an older office building instead of building one custom-made for our community. That would mean fewer jobs, fewer opportunities, and a building that wasn't designed for the public.
Tell Your Commissioner
Let your City Commissioner know you support moving forward on a new City Hall — for new jobs, more public space, and a more accessible government for every resident.
